What is plantscaping? It is interior design focusing on indoor plants as the featured design elements – interior plant design.

Plantscaping is a way to bring nature inside to create warm and inviting spaces for employees, visitors and even homeowners. With plantscaping, plants are a part of the design, not an afterthought.

We often take the vision of a designer or architect and incorporate living and replica plants into the design. Sometimes the plants become the design, such as with a living wall or a moss wall, or sometimes the plants are featured in decorative pots.

Over the years, we’ve brought plantscaping to many beautiful San Diego commercial buildings, office buildings, hospitals and residences. Our portfolio highlights some of our favorite projects.

Workplace – Commercial Plant Designing

Scientific studies show plants in the workplace produce many productivity and wellness benefits. Plants oxygenate the air and reduce carbon dioxide and environmental toxins. They can help baffle excess noise and reduce visual distractions.

Good Earth Plants Presents Our New Show: “Law & Order: SPU”

No, that’s not a typo in this week’s blog headline. In the Good Earth Plant Company version of the show, it’s “Law & Order: Special Plants Unit.” We noticed several stories about crime involving nature recently and decided it’s time for our own L&O episode. In L&O’s hometown of New York City, call it a victory for trees over vandals. The Bloomberg administration wrongly gave Fashion Week organizers permission to chip down dozens of trees and yank out azaleas in Damrosch Park outside Lincoln Center to make room for a fashion show in 2010. Many myths circulate at Christmastime, and several of them deal with our favorite holiday theme plants. The Good Earth Plants Eco-Warrior is here with his Myth Busters hat on to help you out by spreading the true dirt. Myth 1: Poinsettias are poisonous. NO, poinsettias are NOT poisonous! It has been a real battle to bust this myth. Some sources attribute the rumor to a 1919 poisoning case in Hawaii that led to the death of a two year-old child. At the time, the cause of the poisoning was incorrectly determined to be a poinsettia leaf. Poison control centers nationwide say a child or pet weighing 50 pounds would have to eat 500 poinsettia leaves to even start being affected, and that might be due to plant overload versus outright poisoning.… Read More
