This is a small residential green roof project installed using a home balcony in Santa Monica, California. A design/build architecture team asked Good Earth Plant Company to help construct a small green roof. The homeowner wanted to see plants when she looked out the library window. When we arrived on the job site, we had to work around construction debris as the home was still being finished. The roof's growing media is only six inches deep. We used Netafim irrigation lines that we buried for maximum efficiency.Low water use succulents were selected and placed to create a design of concentric circles radiating from the home outward. There are lower plants in the front, working toward larger plants in the back. Completed framing for construction of the residential green roof in Santa Monica, California.
